Russian folk charachters Ded Moroz and Snegurochka are known in Russia since 19-th century. Ded Moroz and Snegurochka are traveling about in a Russian "troika". A troika is a sleight that is drawn by three horses abreast. Snegurochka - the Snow Maiden - Снегурочка is a character from a famous Russian fairy tale.
